For Passengers With Disabilities

  • Plan your journey - check the accessibility of station facilities on the cityrail.info web site, by phoning 131500 or your departure station to ensure that they meet your needs.
  • Mobility aids up to 130 cm long and 80 cm wide may be used on stations and trains. Larger mobility aids are difficult to manoeuvre safely on platforms and on, in and off trains.
  • Portable boarding ramps (80 cms wide) are available on all platforms for passengers using mobility aids and others who need assistance to board the train.
  • If you need a boarding ramp to board the train please phone your departure station just prior to travelling so they can be ready to assist you.
If station staff are not available to help you board, please ask the train guard for assistance.
  • Look for the guard's blue light on the outside of the train if you prefer to travel near the guard.
  • If you are using a wheelchair or motorised scooter, always apply the brakes while you are on the station platform or on the train.
